Owner/Designer Stylist:

Debra Mascarenas

 

Debra is the owner of Rumors. Debra started her career as a student at Mr. Robert’s Beauty Academy here in Brighton. Her first job as a stylist was with Michael of the Carlyle. Four years later Debra left Michaels to open her first salon in 1988. The name of the salon was Nuance, a small two-chair salon in Brighton. Nuance grew and moved to a new larger location. Seven years later Rumors opened in 1995. However, the dream had not yet been realized. “I always dreamed of owning an old building, renovating it and moving the salon into it. I realized that dream in 2005. The building we now occupy was originally a church. The building is over one hundred years old. The renovation took over a year to complete! It’s always a work in progress. It’s been a labor of love and we all love being here in the heart of Brighton.”

Debra has been doing hair for thirty years. In that time she has worn many hats, always moving toward the ultimate goal of realizing that lifelong dream. The dream to be a business owner, an accomplished stylist, a mentor and teacher. To have a business that felt more like an extended family. “I think that i have accomplished those goals. I am very proud of Rumors and thankful to the many people who have held me up through the years.”

Salon Manager/Designer Stylist:

Dandrae Valenzuela

 

Dandrae has been with Rumors 17 years. She began her career after graduating from the Michael Taylor Institute. Dandrae has also had many hours of advanced training through Aveda, which has enhanced her natural talent for creating beautiful natural looking color and beautiful cuts. “I feel I am a good listener through years of experience. I am dedicated and consistent. I am always happy to help and mentor the stylists I work with. We are a team. We hold each other up!” Dandrae is married, the mother of three, born and raised in Colorado. She is a talented artist and interior decorator.

 

 

 

 

Salon Director:

Meagan Gabaldon

Meagan has been with Rumors a total of 14 years. The first two of these years, she spent her time as a massage therapist. She then moved into Management as the Assistant manager for seven years. For the past four years, she has been the salon director. In the summer of 2012, Meagan graduated with her Business management degree. In her free time, Meagan enjoys a good book and learning something new.

 

 

Spa Manager:

Lori Alderete-Pauling

Lori has been a team member at Rumors for 3 years. Lori has been an Esthetician for a total of 9 years. Looking for a personalized, relaxing spa experience? Lori is the person to see. She will absolutely make your spa experience here at Rumors unforgettable.

 

Master Stylists:

Donna Chestnut

Donna has been with Rumors for 20 years and has worked with Debra for several years prior to Rumors. “I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of designing a style around a perm! I have been doing perms since the early 1980′s and consider myself an expert.” Donna also loves doing hilights and color and has a great rapport with guests who have long hair. “They just trust me with their long hair.” Donna’s motto is “Let each day bring new promises.” She is the mother of two grown children and loves spending her free time doing home projects.

 

Theresa Garcia

                                                                                                      Theresa has been a stylist for 36 years, 18 of those years with Rumors! Her extensive experience includes hair, skin care, pedicures and is a certified reflexologist. “It is so rewarding to help someone feel better about themselves.” Caring, nurturing, consistent are all words that convey who Theresa is to her guests as well as to everyone at Rumors. Theresa is a Colorado native, married with four children and four grandchildren. “I love the mountains and interior design. Both are things of Beauty!”

 

 

 

 

 

Tarynn Stewart

Tarynn has been a team member for six years. Tarynn specializes in color, both hilighting and low lighting techniques and trendy color placement for unique and beautiful results. She is also one of our top hair designers when it comes to cutting. She is creative and will always take the time to show you how to recreate your style at home. Tarynn is married with two daughters, a part time student and stylist. When asked what she likes to do in her spare time she replied “whats that!”

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jessica Castillo

Jessica has been a team member since 2005. She is one of our top stylists when it comes to cut, color, and style trends. Jessica is also one of our top male clientele stylists. You can always count on Jessica having the newest fashion trends, not only on herself but recreated as well.

 

 

 

 

Nanci O’dorisio

Nanci has been a licensed stylist for 10 years. She has returned to Rumors after leaving for a few years to be an instructor at the Aveda Institute Denver. She takes passion in her work and loves customizing each and every clients color to suit them. You will sit in her chair a stranger and leave being best friends. Nanci says family is everything to her.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mitzi Luna

Mitzi has been with Rumors for eight years and is a graduate of Artistic Beauty College. She has had training through Aveda’s education programs, giving her the ability to give her guests a personalized and trendy style. Mitzi’s warm and friendly personality makes it a pleasure to be in her chair! Mitzi is from Brighton, loves to decorate and spend time with her husband and two children, She is also an exercise fanatic!

 

 

 

Danette Herrera

Danette has been with Rumors for 6 years. If you are looking for a reliable consistant stylist, Danette is your girl. Danette is passionate about furthering her education. She is a part-time college student. In her spare time you will find her holding a book that she can’t put down.

Julia Rentfrow

 Julia has been a team member at Rumors since 2007. Her down to earth, loving personality makes her a guest favorite! She not only does wonderful hair, but Julia gives an outstanding spa experience! In her spare time you will find her enjoying time with her son.

 

 

 

 

Stylists:

Jasper Moore

Jasper is a graduate of The Academy Of Cosmetology Arts. He has been a team member of Rumors since 2008. He started as a receptionist at Rumors. He then attended beauty school in 2012 to become a stylist. His accomplishments are great. He is fantastic with color and cuts. Jasper loves furthering his education in the Industry. He has attended The American Board of Certified Haircolorist show in Los Angeles two years in a row. He is friendly and personable, Jaspers clients love him! In his spare time he enjoys jam skating and attending live theater.

 

 

 

 

 

Nail Technician:

Mary Perez

Mary is our Nail Tech here at Rumors. She has been part of our team for 12 years. If you are looking for a perfectionist, Mary is the right person for you. She enjoys doing Acrylic Nails along with Shellac. Mary will also give you the most relaxing pedicure you have ever experienced! When she is not working, she is continuing her education as a full-time student.
